Loma Linda University President Reports on Joint Projects in Ethiopia

LomaUniversity1

Dr. Dick Hart, M.D., President of Loma Linda University Medical Center and AHI sent the following report to the president of Restore a Child about our joint projects at Gimbi Hospital in Ethiopia.

Norma,
Let me update you on the current status of the projects you have supported. As you know, there were three areas that we talked about at Gimbie. This included an expanded outpatient department, a children’s ward, and a guest house. The guest house construction is under way, though most work must stop during the rainy season, which is now. This guest house will be an important addition to the campus.

We have always had a section of the male ward dedicated to children. With your support we are making this into a completely separate section, which will help to control noise and infections. We continue to have many children coming to Gimbie, particularly for nutrition related diseases. This ward is usually full and having a special place for them will add to the hospital services. Paul can send you some pictures as these are completed.
