Jonathan Kuntaraf

kuntarafJonathan Kuntaraf, born into a Buddhist family in Indonesia, was baptized when he was 17. During the past 38 years he has served as a pastor, college professor and administrator. He earned his doctorate degree in ministry from Andrews University in 1979. He is Director of the Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

His wife, Kathleen, a third generation Adventist, is a physician and the daughter of a Christian physician. She has served as a hospital physician, as a project coordinator and assistant director with Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), and as a division health director. She is currently the associate director for prevention in the Health Ministries Department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Jonathan and Kathleen are partners in preaching, teaching, presenting seminars, and writing, and have seen more than 3,000 precious children of God lead into His kingdom. They have written five books and numerous publications, including Sabbath School Bible Study Guides.

The Lord has blessed them with two children. Their son, Andrew is currently working in the Treasury Department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.  Andrew’s wife is a Social Worker. Their daughter, Andrea, is a graduate of Loma Linda School of Medicine. She and her husband, Patrick, are both physicians working in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
