Growing Needs, Shrinking Resources

Message from the Founder

"DECLINE IN GIVING" was addressed in the Chronicles of Philanthropy July 2024 issue. "The top 10 percent of earners give nearly as much as the other 90 percent combined... Fundraisers point a finger at declining involvement in religious institutions,...Giving is connected to a robust civil society, to democracy itself, says Jane Wales, co-chair of the Generosity Commission... (adding) People whose first gift was less than $1,000 ended up giving 85 percent of total revenue."  We have experienced this claim.

The unpredictability, volatility, and nature of emergencies today are taking a heavy toll on children. From war in Ukraine and the Middle East, violence in Haiti, and famine and massive displacement in South Sudan and Congo DRC, emergencies can escalate with no warning.

An overwhelmed humanitarian system – which faces decreased funding from donors – is struggling to respond to the scale of these crises. Too often, action comes after lives, livelihoods, and safety nets have already been destroyed. Restore a Child, as most non-profits, is in desperate need of funding.

"Embracing the word solidarity alongside justice and equity will help philanthropy rethink what it means to do good."--

Chronicles of Philanthropy, July 2024.

We are grateful to all who read our eUpdates every month. However, only 15% contribute financially to make this world a better place for children. My appeal and invitation to the 85% today is to join us on this journey of love and compassion. 100% of your contributions go to children since our limited overhead is covered by other friends. Create your legacy while experiencing the joy of giving extravagantly to God's children. Help us bring them to know Jesus while providing for their physical needs.

I feel privileged to ask for your continuing financial support for Restore a Child. Thank you for your generosity which provides compassionate care for so many children.
